Stop the sewer expansion in the Bold Springs and Plainview Communities.
There are several proposals to build sewer infrastructure for future development. The cost to install this sewer ranges from $2 million to up to $4 million dollars.
Option 2 in BLUE: A lift station that could service 170 acres of land already zoned for commercial use.
Option 4 in GREEN: Targets 457 acres of land, including some agricultural areas and family farms who have no need for it.
Option 3 in PINK: Plans for infrastructure for a staggering 13,500 acres, impacting critical farmland and areas of significant natural beauty.
Skyrocketing Taxes: A $4 million sewer expansion will likely lead to increased taxes for all Franklin County residents.
Loss of Agricultural Land: The proposed expansion puts at risk 13,000 acres of farmland to be consumed by commercial industry and residential subdivisions.
Does Not Fit with our Comprehensive Plan: There is no plan for growth in the Bold Springs and Plainview areas
Does Not Benefit our Current Citizens: The people that already live here do not need the sewer lines, so there's no reason to build it. It would only benefit new developments.
The IBA Already Has Land for Industry: We’ve already used hundreds of thousands of dollars of taxpayer money for the Industrial Parks in Lavonia and Carnesville that are sitting vacant.
